Browse the Alexandria ZIP Code Directory

A postal code can narrow an Alexandria name search, but it cannot settle where the city ends or who lives at a street address. The Alexandria ZIP code directory separates mailing labels from parcel, voter, and city-boundary records. Start with the exact postal form, then use the source that fits the question. A name and phone search may point toward a likely area, while official tools can confirm a delivery code, a registered address, or a parcel. Each source proves a different fact, so a careful search keeps the postal city, municipality, parish, and source date apart.

Alexandria ZIP Directory Coverage

Official postal evidence gives Alexandria seven ZIP labels, but it does not provide a verified neighborhood-by-neighborhood boundary chart. The archived USPS table identifies three standard city routes and four post-office or PO Box labels. For a live address, use the current USPS lookup. That result controls delivery format, while a city map or parcel record answers the separate boundary question.

The four less common labels are practical warnings, not a claim that every item under those codes is a box-only delivery. The archived USPS table is useful for older research, yet its date makes a current check essential. Alexandria records also mix city, parish, and postal labels. A ZIP hit can be right for mail while still being wrong as proof of municipal jurisdiction.

Verify an Alexandria Postal Match

A sound ZIP code directory search starts with the full street line. Save the address as supplied, including unit or lot. Then preserve the standardized USPS result in a second field rather than overwriting the original. That small habit protects old spellings and exposes a wrong digit that could hide a valid voter or parcel result.

  1. Run the exact address through the current USPS address lookup and record its standardized city, state, ZIP, and ZIP+4 if returned.
  2. Check the City Engineering base map for the street and city-limit line. The map marks some streets as inside, outside, or moving in and out of Alexandria.
  3. Match the physical address to the Rapides Parish Assessor record. Keep its situs, mailing address, parcel number, and legal description in separate fields.
  4. If the site falls outside the city or lacks city utility service, review RAPC's addressing scope. City property follows a different route.
  5. Date the result. Postal routes, address assignments, and record status can change.

For older material, compare the current form with the spelling in a period directory, newspaper, deed, or plat. No official Alexandria street-renumbering crosswalk was found, so a mismatch should remain an open research point instead of becoming a guessed conversion.

Alexandria ZIP Evidence in Print

The captured USPS archive shows the source behind Alexandria's postal list. It is evidence for an earlier postal table, not a live boundary map.

The image helps audit a code copied from an old file. A current address should still be checked through USPS before it is joined to another roll.

Alexandria ZIP Lookup Fields

The voter portal is the best documented ZIP-capable local interface. Its two public modes use different combinations, so copying fields from one form into the other can cause a false no-result.

FieldForm and ruleMeaning
First nameName lookup, requiredPublic search key
Last nameName lookup, requiredPublic search key
ZIP CodeBoth forms, required, five digitsPostal search key, not a city boundary
Birth month/yearName lookup, required, mm/yyyyIdentity filter; full birth date is not a display field
AddressAddress lookup, requiredOne entered residence address
Apt/LotAddress lookup, optionalHelps separate units at one street number
CityAddress lookup, required dropdownPortal search choice, not proof of incorporation

The portal says its address mode can return voters at the entered address, while private fields are unavailable. A result needs a search date. It must not be enlarged into claims about every person in the ZIP or a home's current occupants.

Note: A ZIP error can hide a valid registration result even when the name and birth month are right.

Map Alexandria Beyond the ZIP

Alexandria's City Engineering map and historic-district maps add the geography a postal list lacks. The city base map supplies streets, public places, neighborhoods, and an incorporated-limit line. AHPC maps add district context. Neither is a USPS boundary polygon, a parcel ownership roll, or a current household list.

The AHPC map page was captured for Alexandria postal research.

Historic district lines can explain why an address appears in a preservation source. They still do not set mail delivery or prove that a named person lives there.

Alexandria ZIP and Parcel Records

The Rapides Parish Assessor advertises free real-estate search by name and address. Its DataScout guidance also documents parcel number, physical street fields, subdivision, property type, transfer data, and mailing address concepts. The reviewed material did not establish a Rapides ZIP filter. Search the physical street or parcel, then compare its mailing ZIP to the USPS result.

Alexandria also links a city property-tax route, shown in the captured portal image.

Tax and assessor records attach to property roles. They do not form a resident roll, and a tax mailing address can differ from the situs address.

Alexandria ZIPs Versus City Limits

A mailing line that says Alexandria, Louisiana is not a finding that the parcel lies within the incorporated city. Postal service areas, Rapides Parish, census geography, and the legal city boundary answer different questions. The City base map marks streets that are inside, outside, or in and out of Alexandria. RAPC's address form adds another test because it excludes property within the city and property served by city utilities.

No official parcel-level ZIP-to-city crosswalk was located. The safe sequence is USPS for delivery, the city map for incorporated context, and the Assessor plus legal description for the parcel. Census ZCTAs can support broad statistics, but they are not ZIP delivery routes or legal boundaries.

ZIP and ZIP+4
A ZIP is a five-digit delivery area label. ZIP+4 points to a smaller delivery segment when USPS assigns one.
PO-box ZIP
A postal label used chiefly for boxes or post-office service; check the exact address before calling it box-only.
Unique ZIP
A code assigned to one large recipient or institution. No unique Alexandria ZIP was verified in the research.
Carrier route
A delivery path within a ZIP. It is not the same thing as a neighborhood, precinct, or parcel line.

Boundary check. Treat postal Alexandria, incorporated Alexandria, Rapides Parish, and Census ZCTA as separate fields until official sources align them.

Read Alexandria ZIP Results Carefully

Each Alexandria ZIP code search returns a claim with a limited scope. USPS can confirm the present mail form. The voter portal can show a registration match under its rules. The Assessor can tie an owner of record to a parcel. Unclaimed Property accepts city and ZIP as secondary filters, but a match there is a financial-property lead, not an address certificate.

Record the source, mode, search date, and exact code used. Keep name variants and old addresses in their own fields. A negative result may mean the source lacks a ZIP mode, the record is protected, the person moved, or the code came from an old table. It does not prove that a person has no Alexandria connection.

Note: Use the custodian's physical or written-request route when a needed index field is not offered online.
